Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050317 Firefox/1.0.2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050317 Firefox/1.0.2 I had 800+ emails in the InBox and was doing a filter search bar to search for sender. After a few searches, Windows XP gave an error and needs to close application. After application restarted, InBox is only left with 7 latest messages. All other messages are missing. I am running version 1.0.2 (20050317), with 7 Mail pop3 accounts. This error only happens to 1 of the mail pop3 account which I was doing a search. There are sub folders in this account and messages there are ok. Did not reproduce it as it caused me to lose too many messages. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1.Go to InBox containg many messages (800+) 2.Do a search/filter using the search bar, on various filters (Sender, Entire Message). 3.XP windows error appears and need to shutdown application. 4.After application restarted, messages in InBox disappears. Actual Results: After application restarted, my message header panel shows/visible 7 messages. I enlarge the frame size, but the messages went missing. The scroll bar does not appear.

To investigate crash related problems, we need a talkback report. Did you send on eat the time of the crash ? There's not much that can be done without it. There's significant hope that your mail is still there, and that only the index was corrupted. You'll need to remove the .msf index file in your profile, and thunderbird will regenerate the index at th enext startup. Check the following link to find info about how to do that : http://www.mozilla.org/support/thunderbird/faq http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder http://kb.mozillazine.org/Thunderbird_:_FAQs_:_Backing_Up_and_Restoring
Unfortunately, deleting the Inbox.msf file did not work (tried) as the Inbox filesize is only 200k. Obviously the messages are missing for good. Where can I find the talk back report?
