User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322) Build Identifier: It's rather cumbersome in, say, the 'Sent' folder to have to select all (either through menu or individually, delete, then compact the folder. A single choice under the drop down menu for the 'Sent' folder (and other folders) to 'empty and compact this folder' would be most helpful and efficient. Reproducible: Always

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. I agree that this would be helpful. I am commenting to prevent this RFE from being auto-resolved, as well as voting for it.

I guess my comment would be that in some cases, automatic removal based on an arbitrary time lapsed criteria is not necessarily a good idea. Ideas to improve a product's usability are just that: improvements. I feel that rather than being removed, this report should be added to a list of enhancements to be addressed to improve the user friendliness of Thunderbird, hence improving the chances of increasing its user base. tia, Dave S.
I too would like to see this feature added. It makes sense that the only folder with a right-click -> empty folder option is the "deleted items" folder but this feature would be nice to have on every other folder. Since it is implemented already only a little work to expand it should be needed.

Similar to Bug 1748043, I don't think we'd add UI complexity.
