Details

User-Agent:       Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050319
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050319

Mozilla Navigator allows multiple bookmarks to the same site and with the same
name. This clutters the bookmark list with duplicate listings to the same
link,and is ambiguous.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open www.mail.yahoo.com
2.Bookmarks->Add Bookmark
3.Bookmarks->Add Bookmark
4.Bookmarks->Add Bookmark

Actual Results:
3 listings of www.mail.yahoo.com are seen in the Bookmark list

Expected Results:
Notify the user that:
1) a duplicate Bookmark already exists and/or
2) give the option for saving it by another name.

Re 1:
I group my bookmarks in folders and subfolders mainly in the personal toolbar
and I do want to have duplicates in different folders or different groupmarks.

Re 2:
Why do you want to save a duplicate bookmark by another name?
I´m using duplicates (either made directly or by cut&paste) to have a template
for editing to make bookmarks for URLs which from the website only can be
reached via some javascript links.

You always can delete or rename bookmarks from bookmarks manager.
