I wanted to suggest a new feature: By double clicking on the unused area of a
shown tab bar a new empty tab is created. FireFox has a separate button for
that, Camino has a toolbar icon for it but I think my recommendation is also a
good idea.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Doubleclick on unused area of tab bar
Actual Results:
nothin'

Expected Results:
new tab is added to already existing tabs
We already have enough options for users to open new tabs, and this one is the
most iillogical if you asked me.

- toolbar item
- shortcut
- tab bar contextmenu
- command click bookmarks or links

There's no Contextual Menu for the blank part of the tab bar, though; you can
only get a new tab by clicking on an existing tab, which is not exactly the same
context :-)

If it's not hard to implement, double-click might be a nifty feature.
Otherwise, I tend to lean toward Jasper's stance.

Aye. I think we should have a context menu for the blank area of the tab bar,
though, even if all it has in it is "New Tab"...
> ...even if all it has in it is "New Tab"

Additional interesting items:

- close all tabs
- reload all tabs
- show bookmarks (in new tab)
i could almost see this as a semi-reasonable shortcut. double-click does mean
"open" and what else are we going to do with that space? i agree it's not
discoverable though. i can go either way.

Well let's confirm this them.

I think doing a context menu for the empty tab section is a good idea, and mike
argument that double click means open seems reasonable to me aswell.

http://tinyurl.com/9lbq7 fixed comment 0. Are we going to add a CM to the blank
part, too, or is this bug FIXED?
I think this bug is fixed, I can double-click on the bar and it opens a new tab
