Every so often, usually every day or two, this has been found with every version
of firefox from 1.01 to 1.03.  What happens is that it begins with whatever i
type in the URL area or even on anything on the screen in a backwards fashion. 
If I type in www.google.com, it comes out as moc.elgoog.www  When I close
firefox then, I shown the profile screen.  I am locked out of using the default
profile and instead i am forced to create a new profile for myself.

It sounds like your firefox.exe is still an active process.  Open Task Manager,
and end firefox.exe after the crash and you will not have to create a new profile.

your problem. There are plans in the works to change how Firefox acts when this
happens.

This is wfm on win2k3 and it's local problem.
Please reopen if you see this wit ha clean profile (without extensions) and a
clean installation.
