The site works fine for me in 1.0.3 and a trunk suite build from about a week
ago. It's possible some regression was introduced in the last week (-12227
sounds too big for an NSS error code), but also possible it's some corruption on
your end.

Have you made any changes to the default certificate settings?

Meanwhile I recommend using a release version (such as 1.0.3) rather than a
nightly test version for financial transactions.

Dan, -12227 is indeed an error code issued by NSS.
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/security/pki/nss/ref/ssl/sslerr.html

But I am not able to reproduce either with latest 1.8 builds.

Changing to WORKSFORME.
