If I set 'start my reply above the quote' and place my signature 'below my reply
(above the quote' , Thunderbird doesn't fill in the '--' above my signature like
normal.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.  Set the relevant options under composition and addressing in the accounts
settings window
2.  Reply to any email.
3.



Expected Results:  
It should give me this when I replu:

Blah@email.com

Quote

Rather Than:

Blah@email.com

The standard signature delimiter is "-- ", not "--". I.e. it is dash-dash-space,
not dash-dash.

Whoops.  Does that affect the bug in any way?  Assuming it is one of course.

It's not a bug, it's a deliberate design decision, to avoid the alternate 
problematic behavior where replying to such a message automatically strips 
everything from the sig-separator onwards -- as described at bug 230532.
