six days ago thunderbird stopped working; just freezes; i've reinstalled,
etc.etc.etc. i dont have time to deal with this. if you guys can't give me a
solid piece, i'm going back to outlook.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to mark this invalid.  It's nothing personal,
you've just given zero details.  "It is broken, fix it!", well, what's broken? 
Apparently Thunderbird has just died on you for reasons which I cannot diagnose.
