I went to check on a bug (bug 284480) I had submitted about two months ago, and it hasn't been touched. It doesn't seem like the problem is with my bug: doing a more general search comes up with 3460 (!) bugs owned by mscott@mozilla.org (default owner for Thunderbird bugs) which are still in the NEW or UNCONFIRMED state. I strongly suspect that this address has been misdirected. Thunderbird bugs are backing up badly; it's hard to see how a Thunderbird bug report will be useful to anyone when there are thousands of issues ahead of it in the queue. Reproducible: Always

(In reply to comment #0) > Is the default owner correct for the Thunderbird component? I went to check on > a bug (bug 284480) I had submitted about two months ago, and it hasn't been touched. a thoughtful question, though the answer is yes - it is correct - see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/describecomponents.cgi?product=Thunderbird so resolving this as INVALID > It doesn't seem like the problem is with my bug: doing a more general search > comes up with 3460 (!) bugs owned by mscott@mozilla.org (default owner for > Thunderbird bugs) which are still in the NEW or UNCONFIRMED state. you can see it more dramatically as https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/reports.cgi?product=Thunderbird&datasets=UNCONFIRMED%3A Note, generally one does not ask "why is my bug not being fixed" http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/page.cgi?id=etiquette.html Looking at the the queue it is obvious that triagers, coders and other workers are very much needed. There might be other issues as well that others can comment on. But the part that is in YOUR control is you can visit http://www.mozilla.org/contribute/ and try to recruit some friends as well. As for bug 284480 I don't have linux but I'll comment anyway in the bug.

additional datapoints: 126 TB bugs fixed in last 60 days 30 of those fixed in tha last 30 So, rate of fixes can be highly variable. And remember too, there is a lot of hard work going on behind the scenes that doesn't get reflected in the rate of fixes being delivered.
