When I try to add an RSS or Atom feed that currently has no items in it, the
feed verification process never finishes

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get an RSS or Atom feed that is empty. (The URL supplied above will usually
work, but so will an RSS feed from an empty GMail mailbox.)
2. Click on the "News & Blogs" category, Click on "Manage subscriptions" to open
the RSS Subscriptions dialog, click on "Add" to open the News Feed Properties,
add the empty feed to the "Feed URL" box, and click "OK".
Actual Results:
Observe that the RSS Subscriptions dialog says "Verifying the feed..." but no
activity occurs in the progress bar and it never finishes.

Expected Results:
The system should have verfied the feed and added a News & Blogs entry of the
appropriate name. (Or it should have failed quickly.)

I tried this on both 1.0 and 1.0.2 of Thunderbird.
With current TB nightly builds, that feed verifies correctly. There have been
several RSS feed-validation problems fixed in recent weeks; see:
bug 259777, bug 269067, bug 272869, bug 287793

I don't know specifically which applies to this feed's problem.

Unfortunately, the RSS Feed that I supplied originally happened to have a post
in it today. So I don't think it reproduced the bug. I've tried to make a new
feed that should always remain empty, so please check the bug again.

No: YOU check the bug again, with a CURRENT TRUNK BUILD. Do **NOT** reopen this
bug until you have done so and verified that your problem still exists.

Well, OK, I didn't know how to get a current trunk build, but I do now. Good
news: the bug is fixed. Thanks.
