In Japanese mode some non-Japanese characters on the keyboard do not work.

In non-Japanese mode Japanese input methods do not work.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make sure that kinput2 is running.
2a. Start any of the Mozilla products: LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8 XMODIFIERS="@im=kinput2"
mozilla|firefox|thunderbird
- or -
2b. Start any of the Mozilla products: LANG=sv_SE.UTF-8 XMODIFIERS="@im=kinput2"
mozilla|firefox|thunderbird
3. Go to any place in the Mozilla product where character input is possible.
Actual Results:
2a: SHIFT-SPACE for using kinput2 for Japanese input works, but other characters
such as dead_macron (needed e.g. for Japanese transcription) and dead_abovedot
stop working.

2b: SHIFT-SPACE for using kinput2 for Japanese input doesn't work, but the
various other character do work as normal.

Expected Results:
All characters and input methods should work in both cases.

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a

you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
