User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050414 Firefox/1.0.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050414 Firefox/1.0.3 There seems to be a strange, strange error, when Firefox displayed a window with a weather update (ForecastFox extension) and display that updates have been downloaded. I had thunderbird and firefox (2) open, while connected and uninstalling software, and when it displayed the notifications (both at the same time), I got a big gray screen that I couldn't do nothing (similar to blue screen of death, but with no messages, nothing. I had to end task all mozilla products, but it didn't remove the issue until I finally, lastly, end tasked thunderbird. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. uninstall software and have thunderbird/mozilla open 2. get 2 notifications at the same time 3. have gray screen Actual Results: Gray screen; Alt + tab to switch to a task that then switched to a regular window, where I could see the software uninstall, and then subsequently end task mozilla products. Expected Results: Not done that. Notifications

Is this still a valid bug? Try to confirm it with a nightly build http://www.mozilla.org/developer and report back whether this issue is still pertinent. Otherwise, this bug will be marked INVALID for for inactivity in excess of 60 days (pre-1.0.4). I am self-assigning to track this bug and will reassign to original owner if this bug is still valid.

William, I can't confirm this in a nightly build, but I have had it happen to me in Firefox 1.0.6 with GMail Notifier 0.4.3 and ForecastFox 0.8 installed, running in WinXP SP 2 (with all patches). I just opened Firefox 1.0.6 today (7/23), and received a notification from GMail Notifier and ForecastFox at the same time. When that happened, the entire screen went light gray except for the notifications. I do have both extensions installed on my status bar. Normally, the notifications will therefore pop up at the bottom of my screen. However, when this happened, the GMail Notifier notification appeared at the top left of the screen. I did have other programs running at the time, but if I used Alt+Tab to switch to them, the gray screen remained instead of displaying the other program as expected. I was able to bring up my taskbar using the taskbar button on my keyboard, and was able to get to Task Manager that way. Task Manager did appear. Once I end processed firefox.exe, the gray screen went away. When I reopened Firefox 1.0.6, my GMail Notifier didn't connect, so I only received one notification from ForecastFox. Firefox displayed normally that time. I have had this happen in previous versions of Firefox as well, but I didn't connect the dots as to what exactly was happening until I searched Bugzilla today. UserAgent (sorry, I also use Firesomething): Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050716 WebMonkey/1.0.6 (All your Firefox/1.0.6 are belong to Firesomething)
