The 'Search Web for...' context menu option doesn't work when used in a new
window launched by JavaScript.
I'd suggest the preferred behaviour is to peform the search in the parent window.

i was taken to the book of mozilla from your js popup, i selected renewed,
searched for it, and google opened in another tab searching for what i selected.

It works, but you don't see anything happen if you have
browser.tabs.loadInBackground (select new tabs) set to true. If you Ctrl+Tab
after the search, you see the results page, right?

If so, this is basically the same problem as bug 243893. Any fix here would be a
workaround to that.

I wonder if this bug should be marked a duplicate of bug 243893, or as depending
on it with a new summary?
