29245 - Clicking on a https bookmark doesn't do anything

If you have a bookmark that points to a https site Mozilla just ignores that you 
click on the bookmark.
If you enter the bookmarks URL in the Location you get a "Protocol not 
supported"

Expected:
A "Protocol not supported" warning.

I'm tempted to mark this bug invalid. Mozilla bits do not support the https secure protocol. Your getting the exact result you 
should be.

I just think that the resulted action is not consistent.
Entering a https URL or selecting one in the bookmark should generate the same 
thing. Either an error or nothing.
Not two different things...

Same problem as bug 26336: attempt to load https: URL through forms doesn't
produce a warning, either.

my bad, i thought you were getting the alert. Reading is fundamental :-). 
I tried this with Mac mozilla bits from 2000022509 and it worked like it's supposed to. Annoyingly, it still brought up a new browser 
window, but at least it did put up the protocol alert.

resolving as invalid b/c mozilla builds should have security now and this won't 
be a problem.

I will check a mozilla build before marking this verified.

I just installed the last mozilla 1.7.13 release candidate And I got the same problem excepted that It's the same with any links https or http
