When I am trying to send mail I receive this error message:
"An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: 5.7.1 (IPT:OA)
Use port 587 to send mail from your AOL screen name.
http://postmaster.info.aol.com/errors/554iptoa/html. Please verify that your
email address is coorect in your Mail preferences and try again."

How do I correct this?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.changed account settings to port 587
2.checked preferences
3.re-send message

Actual Results:
Same error message

Expected Results:
Send mail as requested

I tried to send message to know contact that has worked in the past. Result in
same error message.
Here is the correct URL:
http://postmaster.info.aol.com/errors/554iptoa.html

Apparently you need to have your screenname as your login, and your pass there.
I believe if you go to "Outgoing Server" (if AOL is your only account) and
check the box "User name and password", and place your ScreenName in the
username box, you should be asked for your pass when you next send mail. This
will (probably) allow you to actually use mail.

Also: Are you really using thunderbird? Your UI says Netscape 7.2, and you
didn't paste any info on what version of Thunderbird you're using. If you're on
netscape, you're in the wrong place for reporting bugs, please visit netscapes
own reporting form:

Thanks

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
