User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050317 Firefox/1.0.2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050317 Firefox/1.0.2 in ebay, do a search for "OBD-II" then try opening any of the search results in a new tab or a new page firefox will always ask to save the link thinking its a file since the link will contain ".dll". If a search is made for anything else, it all works fine even though the link will still contain ".dll". If I close all open firefox windos, and open a new one, the first link I open from that query will be opened just fine, but if I try to open a second link, the problem comes back again. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open www.ebay.com 2. do a search for "OBD-II" without the quotations 3. try to open any link from the search results Actual Results: the download pop up window appears asking what to do with the file "eBayISAPI.dll". Expected Results: It should have opened it like a regular webpage, just like it does with every other search query I run on ebay, and its results. None.

WFM Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050414 Firefox/1.0.3 WFM Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050502 Firefox/1.0+ Reporter, are you using and download-related extensions that could be effecting firefox? Do you see the same problem if you start firefox in its safemode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode_%28Firefox%29 Please report back - thanks!
Problem still present when using firefox in safemode. I should also add, though I think its irrelevant, that I am using a proxy at all times due to some problems with my ISP.

The extension (.dll) doesn't matter because Mozilla is using only the content type from the header. What kind of proxy are you using ?
