After Firefox spontaneouly collapsed without warning on three separate occasions
I created a new profile (as suggested by your bug fixes) and attempted to
reproduce the problem. Again, it collapsed while browsing. When I attempted to
open the browser again using the original profile, I received a message saying
the profile was in use and could not be accessed. I have not been able to access
that original profile since. Renaming it does not help. The only profile
available is the one created to reproduce the problem.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.
3.
Navigate to the profile folder (typically C:\Documents and
Settings\YourName\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\%RANDOM%.default),
delete parent.lock.
Go to Start -> Run
Type "firefox -p"
Select the default profile.

It should work now. In the future, please ask for this type of help on
http://forums.mozillazine.org.

I have no idea what is best to mark this bug, but since my profile worksforme
after deleting parent.lock, marking WFM.
