After installing,
The bar links from IE was insurted but the icons weren`t displayed. On the
address bar the icons are displayed properly. Also when dragging this icon to
the bookmark toolbar, it becomes a white standard document icon on the toolbar.

I see the Favicons. However, you may not have clicked these icons yet. I have
noticed one must click the bookmarks in order to get the icon. Since you say
you just moved from IE, it's likely you either 1) haven't clicked, or 2) there's
some glitch that prevents it from grabbing icons from imported links. I'm
betting it's the former, so please click the icons and see if they become correct.
He showed me the problem just before reporting it, so I'll try to help.

I'll clear some things up:
It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the actual import from IE. When he
is on http://www.google.com/ for example, the icon from Google shows up without
problems in front of the URL in the location bar. But when he then drags that
icon to create a bookmark on the bookmark toolbar, that icon also shows up as a
'standard white document icon' on the toolbar. Clicking the icon also does not
help.
Also some of the icons on his link bar in IE aren't icons from the actual site
itself, but they were icons he created himself and set up himself in the
preferences of the bookmark in IE. These are not the only icons that do not
work though, real site icons (such as the example I used above) do not work
either. Even the default bookmarks from Firefox do not seem to have any icons,
they all display 'the standard white document icon' instead.
I call 'em as I see 'em. While Firefox can't currently use User-Made icons (I
think you can if you get some extension, don't remember which one though), when
I click the icon of the site in the bookmarks toolbar (or in the main
bookmarks), it becomes the real icon. Beyond that I can't help you here, nor
can I recreate the bug (as it WorksForMe).
Yes, I haven't seen this problem before either.
I believe I just came across the extension you mentioned:
http://cgi29.plala.or.jp/~mozzarel/addon/firefox/faviconpicker/
While this probably won't solve the real problem of this bug (that icons
somehow never seem to work in certain cases), it should be noted that the
functionality of this extension seems to be necessary in some cases to be able
to do a full import of the IE preferences in Firefox.

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
