User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050414 Firefox/1.0.3 Build Identifier: In comparing LDAP mail clients, and the requests I'm getting from my users, I think it would be very helpful to have an advanced tab for an LDAP server, so that it is easy for the end user to a) Define a custom search filter b) Define how custom attributes in the directory server map to values in the Addressbook (basically a GUI frontend to bug 119291) Other things in the advanced area could be the setting of advanced authentication mechanisms, like SASL/GSSAPI, which is what Stanford requires for authenticated connections to our directory server. Reproducible: Always

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. This is still a very important feature to have resolved (just to keep the ticket open).
Custom search is an import feature. We would like it to be resolved as soon as possible.

Custom search filter is been working since 2.x tree. GSSAPI support for LDAP has patch in bug 308118 but still under review - I've ping developers. Only - GUI frontend to bug 119291 is remain per original request. Not sure how reflect this on summary of bug. Wayne, any toughs on that?
Nikolay, I've morphed the summary. Please modify if I didn't hit it right. Does this capability relate to some aspect of importing outlook?
Depends on: 119291
Summary: Advanced tab for advanced LDAP server settings → Add GUI front end mapping for customizable LDAP attributes
No, it has to do with matching capabilities in Eudora, but moreover, just to make it have a nice sane LDAP interface for those sites that have customized LDAP trees for storing data.
Possibly related question: Do we have a good autoconfiguration or method for ISP's, University, Companies, and other entities to see the defaults for the local thunderbird install so that the LDAP address book entries are already set up to that organizations's standards?
