Is this not a problem anymore? A checkin for bug 281988 caused quite a few problems, but it was backed out soon.

Is this still a problem with a current nightly build?

reporter: can you check with Deer Park Alpha 2 to see if this is still a problem? There have been a lot of fixes landed since the build you reported with. http://www.mozilla.org/projects/deerpark/alpha2.html
Am I correct in assuming you mean Extentions and not plug-ins? Using Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8b4) Gecko/20050716 Firefox/1.0+ (PowerBook) and just installed the evil Greasmonky 0.4a and I didn't crash with the install... and Flashblocker works just fine.
