292806 - drop-down menus close before you can select them

Problem: When visiting this site, the drop-down menus close very quickly after
you drop the mouse down to select one.  Also, I dont' know if it is a coding
problem, but the bounding box of the drop-down menus is too small for the list
of items, some of the items are two lines below the bounding of the drop-down box.

This occurs in Firefox 1.03, and Mozilla 1.7.5.

I see problems with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.7)

I see less problems with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US;
rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050503 Firefox/1.0+ (all drop-down menu items can be selected
- but there are still rendering problems and selection is ackward at times.)
Validating the site with http://validator.w3.org/ indicates quite a few errors.
