293130 - ldap initialization problem from compose window

when trying to use the auto-complete function for the To: box when composing
messages I get "ldap initialization problem" and when I click on that it gives
the error code "0x8000ffff": unknown error".

However, if I use the "Contacts" extension (version 0.5) I can look up ldap
entries successfully using exactly the same ldap settings.

Reporter, are you still having this problem? If you are, please check the value
of  "ldap_2.autoComplete.directoryServer" in your prefs.js and see if it is
empty. Please report back here either way.

No response from reporter for > 1 month, therefore marking invalid.

Reporter, if this is still a problem for you, please retest with the latest
version of thunderbird, (1.5 beta) and if it still exists, reopen this bug and
also answer my question in comment 1.
