User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050414 Firefox/1.0.3 Build Identifier: 1.0.2 (20050317) Articles that have been previously been marked "read" are showing back up in the article list (when viewing with View->Threads->Threads_with_Unread), but are duplicated in the message list. They show up at the same nexting level in the article tree and, when I set View->Headers->Full and switch back-and-forth between the two duplicates, appear to be the same exact article (same Message-ID, etc). It doesn't happen for every article (see attached screen grab). Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.Set View options to View->Threads->Threads_with_Unread 2.Mark newsgroup "read" 3.wait a day or two (for another article to be posted in the thread) Actual Results: An article that has previously been marked as read will show up in the header list with a twin brother. Expected Results: Article should not be duplicated in the list two screen grabs attached

FWIW, I also saw this when I updated from the April 17 TB build to a more recent nightly (don't remember exactly which). Removing the .msf files for the afflicted newsgroups cleared it up. WFM?

It's an annoyance (more some days than others -- yesterday, I was seeing 30-40 "old" messages with 2-3 new ones) but I can live with it for a bit...

Following up my earlier post, I went ahead and deleted the msf files for all of my newsgroups as suggested by Chayka, and I'm still seeing duplicate messages in the list. (I closed T-bird first, of course). (I realized I had backups of the msf files, so waiting was un-necessary).
