Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050421 Firefox/1.0.3 (Debian package 1.0.3-2)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050421 Firefox/1.0.3 (Debian package 1.0.3-2)

I have two different E-Mail address, with two different S/MIME certificates I
use for signing, but both on a single POP3 account - usually, I would use
identities to seperate the two. However, since Thunderbird allows only one
certificate to be used per account, I had to setup one POP3 account and a "fake"
account, using "Movemail", which functions like an identity.

While this is more or less a good workaround, it causes unwanted behavior when
replying to messages: The POP3 account's only identity is always preselected,
since the accounts are seperate and Thunderbird only seems to preselect an
identity of the account the message was recieved on.

I can imagine two solutions for this problem, one could either add support for
S/MIME certificates per identity rather then per account, or allow Thunderbird
to select an identity from a different account, if it matches the To: address of
a recieved mail.

Reproducible: Always
