I began with the Mozilla-1.* which was installed as a package with FC2. There have been multiple updates since install. The current version of Mozilla is Mozilla-1.7.6, and the current kernel is 2.6.10-1.771_FC2. I had just been using Moz-browser/Moz-mail an hour or so earlier. I was offline for a while, and needed to get online again, when the problem began. When I un-installed, I did it via apt-get/synaptic, a complete removal, and reinstalled via synaptic. The current version installed by apt/synaptic is 37:1.7.6-1.2.5. Fedora Core 2 (2.6.10-1.771_FC2) and Mozilla-suite v 1.7.6-1.2.5 Thank you for your response. owa

> 1.uninstalled mozilla via apt-get > 2.re-installed mozilla via apt-get sounds like a problem with apt-get... you aren't using a build from .mozilla.org and we really have no idea what apt-get did to Mozilla or your system. Anyway, try running mozilla from the commandline also, the current version of Mozilla is 1.7.7 resolving INVALID -- this is not a Mozilla bug. please reopen if you install a .mozilla.org build and still can't run Mozilla http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.7.7/
