User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050414 Firefox/1.0.3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050414 Firefox/1.0.3 On location where graphs should be displayed, frame is shown with error message "Error: Could not load graph. Please verify that the Microsoft Office Web Components are installed on your computer." We use ManageSoft for a.o web based hard/software inventory for the European, Asian and Australian divisions. The missing graphs provide essential information, so lacking OWC support holds us back migrating to Firefox. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install Firefox 2.Install Office Wb Components (XP or 2003) 3.Check web site using this technology. Actual Results: Same error message. Expected Results: Displayed graphs/toolbars. On page 31 of http://www.lulu.com/items/82000/82300/8/preview/preview.pdf is described what has been done to investigate.
Reporter, aren't those 'Microsoft Office Web Components' using ActiveX ? That's not supported by Firefox. There's an extension that can help though : <http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/windows1.html#ActiveX>
OWC is not ActiveX, it is a local installation. It operates as a com object. OWC XP can be downloaded at: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx? FamilyID=982b0359-0a86-4fb2-a7ee-5f3a499515dd&DisplayLang=en
