Details

(Keywords: regression)

The hint label for the "Proportional (serif)" font pref now reads "Proportional"
instead of "(like Times)"--the monospace hint still reads "(like Courier)" as
expected.

I'm not sure when this regressed, but 0.8.4 still has it right, as did nightlies
from earlier this year... 20050509 now.
Jasper, is this something you can fix or does it require some extra coding?
In addition, in 0.8.4, when the default font for a given langGroup was
sans-serif, "Proportional (serif)" changes to "Proportional (sans-serif)". This
no longer happens in the nightlies.

Broken in 20050523, but probably broke at the same time as comment 0.

Additionally, (but not a regression), the "like Times"/"Proportional" hint does
not change face. It should be "like Times", set in Times, when serif is set as
default, and "like Helvetica", set in Helvetica, when sans-serif is set as default.
Summary: Fonts prefpane hint label (like Times) is now Proportional → Fonts prefpane hint label (like Times) is now Proportional, serif/sans fails to change
Fixed by Simon's checkin for bug 289549.

Both the hint text and the Proportional descriptor (serif/sans-serif) again
switch based on whether sans-serif or serif is the default.
