User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1) Build Identifier: 1. i've updated to 1.0.3 2. i've updated all extensions (googlebar, tabbrowser, i don't remember what else) 3. firefox failed to connect to any site (this was gradual, first it couldn't connect to gmail.google.com, but connected to www.google.com, www.cnn.com, then it stopped connecting to any of these). IE connected fine 4. following your instructions, i've installed the latest nightly build --> firefox doesn't start. i see it in the task manager, but then it is gone before opening a window. i'm submitting this bug with IE, which is annoying. Reproducible: Always

Does it start in the safemode ? (close FF and run the FF safemode entry in the windows startmenu) And if you report a bug about a nightly you have to add the build ID in your report.

Did you install it in an empty directory (not over the 1.0.X build) and did you also test a new profile ?

no FF is running in the background i've installed to a new location. firefox runs from there. however, it gives me this message: The file /C:/Program Files/Mozilla Firefox - 2/Firefox cannot be found... this is the right location (except, of course, the leading slash and that every slash should be a backslash). when i click 'ok', firefox launches. now i don't have my extensions, not critical, jost annoying having to install them again.

the new firefox doesn't connect to any site, which was the reason i've tried to install it in the first place (step 3 in the bug description) so this is again a critical bug

tried to install the may 12th build. firefox crashes. this time, the quality agent pops up, but fails to send the report. so i'm attaching it here

re comment#7: Bugzilla is not for support questions and not connecting in 1.0.3 is a user or system error (and it could be also a extension error). In this case it's usually a Firewall problem (the .exe changed and the FF doesn't recognize this new .exe and blocks FF). It's also known that the Norton Firewall produces such broken Firefox if it finds a changed firefox.exe An attached Talkback Report doesn't help, we need the ID... I can't help in this case and I think this bug will be closed as worsforme.

firefox crashes upon start where previous versions worked and no extensions were added / changed during the upgrade. this is the fact 1. you should work on your english. i didn't understand anything 2. firefox worked fine for a year. then, a few days ago, without any change to the system, it stopped connecting to any site. this is a bug, not a support issue. i installed the nightly build, per the instructions in the site, and it didn't even start. after installing in a fresh location, it starts, but still doesn't connect, and has problems starting. 3. i've done every effort to help you determine and fix this bug. sending a crash report was supposed to help you track this bug. this is the same report you would have gotten had the quality agent been successful in connecting with the talkback site (which it can't, see 2 above). 4. you refusing to try and understand the bug and supporting the product is insulting.

just to make sure, i've turned off the firewall. firefox (fresh install, new folder, new profile) is still unable to connect.

Reporter, why did you cc me to this bug report? What do I have to do with the problems you're experiencing? Removing myself again, if you're having problems with my English, please send me a private e-mail explaining what's wrong about it.
