I can confirm that the same thing happens on an XP SP2 box. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4 Changing the pref to allow websites to install software makes everything work as expected. More of an issue now that everyone was told to change that preference!!! Does this same issue occur for 1.0.3 users wanting to upgrade to 1.0.4 and not just extensions???
