I would like to be able to customize the toolbar w/ an up-1-level icon, so that
clicking the icon would open the next higher domain level.
If this feature were available now, I could click the icon & go from 
 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=Firefox
to
 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/.

There's an extension that does this:

You might have to email the author to ask him to make an icon for you though.

Extensions can do this, it's not something most people need.
