Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4

With Firefox 1.03 Java RTE 1.4 and 1.5 allowed me to run java applets without
problems. Since upgrading to Firefox 1.04 applets crash sometimes and the
browser window is closed. Under the settings control panel Java advanced Applet
tag support, if you check Mozilla and hit apply it is rejected with a message
about insufficient permissions.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. go into the Java control panel, selecet advanced, APPLET tag support
2. Check Firefox
3. Click on "Apply"

Actual Results:
"Unable to change browswer settings"

Expected Results:
accepted.

I tried JRE 1.4 too - same problem. I would LIKE to go back to FIREFOX 1.03,
but you have very thoroughly expunged it from the internet.
Duping to report with better diz.
