I can't repro this, or the one from earlier today I just duped to this, but I'm
on 10.3.9, 2005051508 (v0.8+). Are you on 10.4 on both machines? The poster of
the screenshot in Bug 294318 mentioned he/she's on 10.4.
then it's probably tiger only. good times.
Summary: Page doesn't draw until scroll → [10.4] Page doesn't draw until scroll
Summary: [10.4] Page doesn't draw until scroll → [10.4] Google pages don't draw until scroll
can we get a timeline from past nightlies on when this started happening on the
trunk? it doesn't happen with 0.8.x.

Just for the record, I'm on Tiger and I can't reproduce this.
I believe I began seeing this problem only after updating to OS 10.4 (Tiger).
Camino 20050428 and 20050515 on 10.4.0, bug not reproducible despite multiple
attempts.
I'm the guy who posted the attachment for the duplicate bug. I have upgraded to
10.4.1 and Camino Version 2005051708 (0.8+), and the problem is gone.
whoops, scrub that last comment. it's still there, but ONLY when it's in a
window of its own, not a tab.
I am using Mac OS 10.4.1, tried to use the nightly build 0.8+, however, when
putting searches in the google window repeatedly, eventually the search hangs
until the google search button is depressed. Very irritating problem, so much
so that I went back to using 0.84, which has been quitting for no apparent reason.

This also happens to me (build 2005051708).

It works OK if I remove:

user_pref("nglayout.initialpaint.delay", 25);

from user.js/prefs.js. Hope this helps!

This also worked for me but only briefly--the problem returned later in the day
even with this line removed (I doublechecked, and Camino hadn't added it back in).
I realized we should be including info on our hardware to see if the problem has
something to do with that.

My hardware:

Blue & White G3, 350 mhz, 1 gig of RAM, wi-fi connection (via a Belkin PCI slot
wireless card) to a communal wireless DSL connection.
Tracked back:

Last nigthly not affected by this bug: 2005040808
First nightly affected by this bug: 2005041308

hope it helps,
this bug is really annoying.

regards,
L.
While I've never seen this problem with the main Google search, I did come
across something similar with the Google Images search yesterday. The page was
mostly blank, as you can see in the screenshot, except for bits of text here
and there. But like what happens soemtimes with bug 294415 , the page shifted
back into place when done loading. Also, strangely enough, this only seemed to
happen around page 25 of the google images search. Anyway, my guess is that
this problem is the scrambling bug 294415 making google's page load blank like
in most of my screenshot.
Like Echidnae I can only see this on the google images search but until recently
I hadn't been able to reproduce this bug or bug 294415 at all.

The only thing which has changed is the speed of my connection to the net -
previously I was on a high-speed university connection but at the moment I'm on
a slow 56k dial up.

I can reproduce every time while loading a page, but sometimes once all the
images have loaded the page refreshes and then is displayed correctly.
I'm still seeing this problem with last night's build (2005060608)--Google
searches still often come up mostly blank until I scroll the window. I see this
with just normal Google searches, not just Image searches.

I'm curious if anyone knows why this bug has been so persistent, though I know
the bug was first opened not too long ago, on May 16. I'm not a "true"
programmer, but I assumed the builds prior to this problem appearing, would give
some hint as to how to fix it.
Not sure why I didn't think of this earlier. Using bug 294415 as a starting
point, I tested both the 20050331 and 20050401 builds for this bug. With the
first build, no problems with Google or Google Images. With the 20050401 build
(which is when the scrambling bug first appeared), the first time I tried
searching with the main Google search, it came up blank. Also in same that
build I was having problems with Google Images. Can anyone else confirm this
using those builds? If so, then I say this is really bug 294415
I just saw Camino's screen redraw problem happen (page mostly blank until I
scroll it) with a web page I haven't seen it happen in before--www.macfixit.com.
The only difference was that I also had a Finder window open in the background,
doing a Spotlight search, which was slowing down Camino (as well as everything
else). Could Camino's redraw problem sometimes occur due to some process that
interrupts it, and at other times be due to some yet uncovered bug with specific
sites like Google?
FWIW, I have been intermittently seeing a similar problem using recent nightlies
under 10.3.9 on my TiPB G4 667.
Never mind, I think my problem is more likely bug 294415.
Anybody still getting this with the 20050616 nightly? Bug 294415 is fixed in
that build, and it looks like the problem is gone here...
This bug is the same as the scrambling bug which is now fixed in the nightlies.

Duping...

The 20050616 nightly seems to have done it--I've done lots of Google searches
using it, and haven't seen the bug again.
