Dale,
Can you give a bit more information about the problem? Some of the things
I'm curious about are:
-Which version of calendar are you running? (Help->About)
-What program are you running calendar in? (Firefox, Thunderbird, etc)
-Did the events simply disappear from your calendar or from all user's calendars?
-Can you view the events using another calendar program, ie Outlook?
-Did only events from one calendar file disappear or from all calendar files?
(If you only have 1 file, try creating a new one and adding a test event.)
-Are you sure the calendar is checked in the 'Calendars' tab in the upper left?
-Finally, are there any errors in the Javascript console? (In
Firefox/Thunderbird under the Tools menu)| Reporter | ||

Hi there.Answers to questions as follows: - I am using the 2005011112-cal install for Thunderbird - Im using it in Thunderbird but others are using Mozilla Suite, others Firefox - The events from a shared calendar located on a central server have dissappeared. So all users that had access to that file can still access the file but no events are showing in any of the other calendars either - Only events from a specific shared calendar. We have another public calendar that people can still view, access - I tried creating a new one and that is succesful - Calendars are ticked...checked that already - No errors in Javascript Console Dale

Hmm...this is where things could get a bit ugly. It seems like there's probably something wrong with the .ics file. To fix it, you're probably going to have to open it in a text-editor and look for anything that looks out of the ordinary. First I'd recommend looking at the very end of the file, for a problem like the one described in bug 257175. (See especially the fifth comment) If that's not the problem, you may be stuck trying to remove individual events manually to try and isolate the problem that way. If you do find it, attaching the problem event to this bug may prove useful in solving the problem that caused Sunbird to write it incorrectly. Also, if the calendar does not contain sensitive data, you can attach the whole .ics file to this bug and hopefully I or one of the other volunteers can find some time to look through it for these same problems. One other thing: -How big is the calendar file? (Could be bug 284095)

Thanks to Wolfgang for his previous input Seems I had the same problem only there were entries that had been corrupted it seemed, as the end of the file displayed an unfinished event entry, possibly one that had gone haywire. I removed thjat event, put in END:VCALENDAR and presto we ha dmost of the calendar back. What causes this ?? If anyone knows, maybe more than one person writing the calendar at the same time ? thanks anyway everbody
