Typing wp <auschwitz trials> to find wikipedia details for a college paper leads
to a bizarre holocaust denial site. The wp <> doesn't seem to work at all, yet
the built-in bookmark in my build of firefox says it should. Unless something
has affected by firefox otherwise.

Is this bookmark something you created, or something that shipped with Firefox?

Is your bookmark file private, or would you be willing to attach it to this bug?

I don't think you should type the < and > characters.

Your bookmark is missing the %s placeholder. If you look at the URL in the
Wikipedia quicksearch bookmark you see this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Search?search=
It should be:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Search?search=%s
So when you type "wp <auschwitz trials>" in the location bar, it's doing some
other search. I'm not sure what's the default behavior on Firefox when you just
type on the location bar.
Propose INVALID.

When typing in the location bar, the default behavior is to perform an "I'm
Feeling Lucky" search with Google. That's the one that's sending you to
zundersite.com

Typing wp <auschwitz trials> in the address bar in both 1.0.4 and a current
nightly (2005-05-16) results in the following page
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Search?search=%3Causchwitz%20trials%3E

Use http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/smart-keywords to recreate your
WikiPedia bookmark in the quick searches folder.
