User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de-DE; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de-DE; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4
After having entered all the necessary details in the account creation wizard,
one is asked for the password, Thunderbird starts downloading the emails and
deletes them from the server. This can be very damaging.
The default setting should be: Leave messages on server after downloading. It
hurts noone to have to delete them manually, while having them deleted without
prior choice can be desastrous.
Using WinXP, SP2, Thunderbird 1.02, POP email server.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create new account
2. Enter all the necessary settings
3. Enter the password
Actual Results:
Mails on the server get deleted.
Expected Results:
1. Ask prior to downloading and deleting them.
2. Not delete them at all as a default.

Yes, thanks for pointing out, it is a duplicate. Damn shame, it has not been
worked on yet. A prompt should be easy to include.
