Clicking on a link from a Web site does not always work; I often get no response at all.

Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.7.8 Response from a link is totally unreliable. For example, I may have gotten to a NYTimes article by clicking on a link in an e-mail, but then get no response if I click on "E-mail this." Or I can get almost all the way through a Buy.com order (since the links _do_ work sometimes!) and then be unable to activate the "Checkout" button. I have had to copy the address from the address bar and paste it into Internet Explorer in order to continue. Since this works, it is not the site that is at fault. This problem started when I updated Foxfire with the latest build--1.7.8, although loading Web pages was getting increasingly slow with the previous version. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to Web site 2. Click on some kind of link on the page, as on a picture when shopping. 3. Keep clicking. 4. Nothing happens. Actual Results: Nothing. I am stuck where I am. Expected Results: Get to the next step; go somewhere; get me to the site on time. Windows XP Pro SP 2 on a Dell Dimension 4550. No problems with Internet Explorer. No extra themes or extensions. Vanilla installation.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
