Details

(Whiteboard: [closeme 2011-03-01])

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050513 Firefox/1.0.4 (Debian package 1.0.4-1)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050513 Firefox/1.0.4 (Debian package 1.0.4-1)

Before I switched from the Mozilla suite to Thunderbird, if I sent mail without
logging in to my IMAP server, I was asked for my password when an attempt was
made to save to mail to my Sent folder. Thunderbird does not ask for a password,
instead "Login to server xxx failed." is shown.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Compose new mail
2. Choose From account on IMAP server that has not been logged in yet
3. Send mail

Another way to reproduce:

1. Quit Thunderbird
2. Press Ctrl+M from Firefox
3. Choose From account on an IMAP server
4. Send mail

Actual Results:
Thunderbird status says "Sending login information" then a popup appears "Login
to server xxx failed."

Expected Results:
A password prompt should appear.

I no longer see this issue on Thunderbird 3.1.7 on OS X.
