When attempting to download and install the Adobe Reader plugin I received the
following error message.

Adobe Reader 7.0 Installer Information

Error 1303. The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat7.0\Resource\CMap

The installation cannot continue. Log on as an administrator or contact your
system administrator.

---------------
I'm the only user of this computer and I am the administrator. The only way I
could figure out how to get around this problem was to go to Add/Remove Programs
in the control panel; point to the downloaded Adobe executable and add it that
way. If I just tried to execute the downloaded file I kept getting that error
message.

Now that I've installed the Adobe plug-in I have another problem. If I click on
this link
http://www.collegesports.com/auto_pdf/p_hotos/s_chools/orst/sports/m-footbl/auto_pdf/depth-chart

I get the following Acrobat plug-in message
"This operation is not allowed"

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.click on the link and the Acrobat plug-in message comes up
2.
3.

Expected Results:
loaded an Acrobat file.
Component: Installer → Plugin Finder Service
From the discription given this sounds like an Adobe Reader Installer problem.
Even though Firefox fetches the installer the problem might not be with Firefox.

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.
