An excellent addition to the Thunderbird address book would be the ability to
view all address books at once, instead of just one at a time. This doesn't
seem to me like it would be difficult, and I would recommend the use of a
"pseudo-book" that would remain at the top of the list of books. This book
could be named "All" and could have an alternate icon to distinguish it from the
real books.

I have helped several people migrate to Thunderbird from Outlook Express, and
some of them like to sync their Palm handhelds with their Thunderbird address
books. Several of them have asked about this feature, as it is something that
they were able to do with the Palm Desktop software.

This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that
bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are
highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code.

While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we
are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce
this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a
copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and
you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug
(given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more
reproduction information if you have it.

If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not
changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved.

howdy y'all,

to avoid having this bug auto-resolved for lack of activity over the last few months, i am posting this msg.

there have been times when i wanted to test in a filter for membership in ANY of my address books. this rfe would do the job. currently i need to add a test for each of my 4 address books. certainly would be nifty to have an "any address book" or "all address books" entry.

it would also simplify reading/debugging filters when doing maintenance.

take care,
lee
