Details

A new build system named triton is online and building Thunderbird Trunk
binaries. We need to take a look at the binaries it produces. If we find that
the binaries are of equal quality to hilo's, I will replace hilo's Trunk cycle
with triton's. This will shorten the amount of time it takes to build
Thunderbird Mac OS X binaries on the trunk.

A set of Trunk binaries from this system can be found at:
http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/nightly/experimental/2005-05-20-14-trunk/
I looked at the build on Friday - noticed some issues with changing focus from
one folder to another on my IMAP account. This needs further investigation - I
will report back in the bug when I have exact STR.

I think you're seeing bug 295040.

In that case do you all think we can sign off on triton doing Thunderbird trunk
Mac builds? hilo takes about three and a half hours longer than triton in some
cases and that's one of the builds we're running today.

unfortunately, the build below seems to have that nasty bug where the Account
Manager won't come up:

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/nightly/experimental/2005-05-20-14-trunk/

mscott, that particular bug has been fixed in recent trunk builds, right? I
don't recall the bug number...
whups, forgot to complete my thought: with the issues in comment 2 and comment 4
fixed in recent trunk builds, would it be troublesome to whip up another triton
trunk build to test?

or, should we just test outside of those problem areas? (although Account
Manager access is a smoke test.)

We'll need to wait until hilo's build finishes to start triton's so that we
ensure that hilo's symbols aren't overwritten. I'll post the URL to the build
here when it's available.
Here's a new Thunderbird trunk Mac build from triton:

the build in comment 7 passed smoketests ran on Mac OS X 10.3.9:

Marcia, how does it look on Tiger (10.4.x)?
Hardware: PC → Macintosh
look a-ok on Tiger, installed an extension or two, tried several common
operations and saw no issues.
thanks for checking, Marcia --marking this resolved.
