Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.5) Gecko/20041107 Firefox/1.0 Symantec NIS 2005 generates one or more error pop-up after reboot. Thunderbird 1.0 has been installed since decemeber 2004. The problem started as soon as I installed NIS 2005. It appears like Thunderbird has overwritten the standard MAPI32.dll, and NIS 2005 is the first application I use that discovers it. See "steps to reproduce" and "actual details". Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run Netscape 4.6 as browser & email client on an XP system. 2. Install Thunderbird 1.0 Use for a few months 3. Install Symantecs Internet Security 2005 (a.k.a NIS) 4. Reboot the PC. Problems start on first reboot after complted install/configuration. Actual Results: ccApp.exe reports "The ordinal 129 could not be located in the dynamic link library MAPI32.dll" after each reboot. Sometimes also "The ordinal 21 could not be located in the dynamic link library MAPI32.dll" Expected Results: To start NIS 2005 without errors. I guess Thunderbird should not have overwritten the MAPI32.dll system file. ccApp.exe is version 103.0.4.3 MAPI32.dll is created by Mozilla. version 1.7.5 - 2004120606 It's stored in my Windows\system32 directory (mozMapi32.dll version 1.7.5: 2004120606 exist in the Program files\Thunderbird directory.) Relevant or not: Thunderbird and MS Windows are located on two different harddisks.
