User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511

When going to the http://www.whitepages.com a pop-up window with extraneous
content appears. My settings are to block all pop-ups. I only have one entry
in the allowed list which does not match the URL above nor the URL reflected for
the pop-up window. It appears as though the new window is opened/created by a
Javascript. After the popup window is closed, subsequent visits to the same URL
the browser detects and blocks the POPup windows. I tested the same page with
IE, IE did detect this popup and blocked it on the first access attempt.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open a fresh browser window
2.type in the Location www.whitepages.com
3.once the pop-up is closed no subsequent accesses within the same session will
display the pop-up.

Actual Results:
an unwanted popup window was opened.

Expected Results:
The software should have prevented/blocked the unwanted popup.
WFM popup was blocked and icon appeared in status bar.

The same issue exists with FireFox 1.04 wunning on Winxp sp2.

It seems an individual who tested this report was using a prereleased version
which is not available.

Just retrieved and installed mozilla 1.7.10

Accessing the URL http://www.whitepages.com still triggers the pop-up window.

It looks like one of the older versions was suseptible. Sometime in the past
the issue was corrected, but would manifest itself if the older version was not
completely uninstalled prior to the installation of the newer one. This cycle
would continue in perpetuity. The only way to remedy the reported issue, is to
completely uninstall mozilla and then reinstall. Was not able to determine
whether the manner in which the URL was allowed to pop-up a window was in the
registry or somewhere within the directory/files.

It looks like after several windows and tabs are opened, the pop-under return
for www.whitepages.com and others. Unfortunately, due to the numerous open
tabs, I have been unable to isolate which sites they come from.

This issue exists in the version depicted below.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915

When the new browser window is opened, the pop-up or pop-under is blocked.
However, if you have multiple windwos/tabs opened and in one of the tabs you go
to www.whitepages.com, a pop-up from that site is displayed.
This issue exists in the version depicted below.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915

Try the following.
Open mozilla anew.
enter the URL of www.whitepages.com. The pop-under/pop-up is caught.
Open a new tab. enter the URL www.whitepages.com, a pop-under/pop-up appears.
