Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050523 Firefox/1.0+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050523 Firefox/1.0+ Firefox downloads all files to the Desktop (the default location), not the location specified in Tools -> Options -> Downloads. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set "Save all files to this folder" to something other than the default. 2. Download a file. Actual Results: File is downloaded to desktop/default. Expected Results: File is downloaded to user-set location. This a regression on the trunk.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050524 Firefox/1.0+ WFM, whatever caused the regression must have been fixed. I created a folder called test, selected it in the options, and then went and downloaded Network Notepad+ installer. It went into folder test, and not to the Desktop. <-WFM

Now using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050524 Firefox/1.0+, latest Pacifica build, I can still reproduce it. :/

Reopening. This bug is confirmed for in Windows XP using the 20050524 (Deer Park) build, using a brand new profile. By default, it's set to download to the desktop. I tried this and it worked fine, using http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/firefox-1.0+.en-US.win32.installer.exe as the download file. Then I went to options and selected "My Documents" as the folder. I cleaned up any residual download garbage from the dekstop and tried to download the link again. The download manager said it was being downloaded to the correct location ("My Documents"), but in fact it was being saved to the desktop again. I then tried to make it ask me where to save each file, but that didn't work either. It had become locked on the desktop. Tristor, try switching the download location several times and see if it still works each time. This bug definitely exists.

I guess it doesn't reproduce 100% of the time.
This could be a dupe of Bug 284089.
