User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4 Build Identifier: Thunderbird version 1.0 (20041206) When I receive mail from other time zones, Mozilla correctly converts the date and time to my own time zone before displaying them in the message-list pane (as discussed in bug 252508). However, if I set that message-list pane to display the messages in the order they were written (View -> Sort by -> Date), they actually get sorted by the raw date and time in the message header, ignoring the time zone. Thus a message written at 3 PM, US Pacific Standard Time (= 11 PM GMT) will be sorted as if it preceded a message sent from Britain at 4 PM GMT on the same day. As discussed in bug 252508, Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Expected Results: The dates after conversion should be used for sorting, so that the messages are listed in the order they were actually sent (assuming accurate clocks on the various computers involved).

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. This bug exists in version 1.0.6. It's very annoying if you get mails from different parts of the world.

the question is, is it fixed in 1.5beta2 for new message headers? (not previously downloaded headers) I believe it is.

Reporter, does the issue still occur with the latest supported 2.0.0.x / Shredder trunk nightlies? (1.5.0.x is now end-of-life and the latest supported Thunderbird version 2 is 2.0.0.16)
