It would be nice to be able to choose from witch "source" we want to upgrade.

Reproducible: Always
Not likely to happen i think. Dev builds aren't built automagically (afaik) and
the nightly builds are for testers who know what they're doing; so they're quite
at home downloading zips and installing them manually.
The Update feature is for Release builds and not for the developer builds.
Normal user could download such builds by a mistake and they would be unhappy
about broken extensions, crashes and dataloss by one of the untested nightly builds.
