In my address book (automatically created), some people have multiple entries
(from sending me email from various addresses).

Perhaps users should be able to drag one entry to another entry and have the
dragged email address (and other information) added as an alias (or something
else) to the destination entry?

EG:
I drag [tewner@foo.com ] to my tewner@bar.ac.il entry. Now I only have one entry
with my name, and it has both my addresses in it, the primary address being
tewner@bar.ac.il

Reproducible: Always
seems like a wontfix - how would one know what part of the address information
to copy - name, address, both?
it's not simply "synchronize" logic?

Gmail can merge contacts. The extension "Duplicate contacts manager" can also merge contacts.
