Build Identifier: Mozilla/1.8.b.2 mail programme using pop3 mail

I have installed Firefox 1.0.4, Netscape 8.0.1, Mozilla 1.8.b.2

mozilla mail crashs when I try to compose a mail or try to reply to a mail. I
can receive new mails.

I installed Mozilla 1.7.8 over 1.8.b.2 and Mozilla mail runs normal, I can
compose and reply mails.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.open mozilla mail
2.click on compose button
3.the compose window tries to open, only the frame
4.a popup raises telling the programme is shutting down
5.a netscape popup for creating a failure report raises and the mail programme
has closed.

Actual Results:
the mail has shut down

Expected Results:
mail opens a compose window for composing or replying

Can you provide a Talkback - ID (thats from the Netscape - Popup). More

if you get crashes, you should install correctly. Installing 1.8 over 1.7 may
work (no guarantee), as newer versions may convert some data in the profile to
the new format needed.
Deinstall Mozilla and reinstall into a clean directory. If this doesn´t help,
create a new profile.

It isn't clear to me which build he gets his crashes in. In OS/2 2005052305
trunk I got crashes trying to reply to newsgroup postings, but this problem
disappeared in 2005052405 trunk.
Seeing this bug with seamonkey builds from 2005-08-25 and 08-29. Uninstalling
and re-installing does not help, using a new profile or removing the profile
chrome directory does make replying and composing work again. I'm not even sure
this is the same issue as the one for which this bug was reported, but the
outward behavior is the same.
WFM as of today - and for a rather long time before already.
