In subscribing to a calander and making a calander I have checked this box, and when I add or edit an event the calander will not publish until I manually tell it to publish. Reproducible: Always Expected Results: Automatic publish of the calander upon making a new event.

Will, There have already been a few cases people have reported where this happens. Can you say whether the failure to publish happens regardless of how you edit events/tasks, or only when certain types of edits are made? For instance, bug 292308 says that changing the progress of a task does not update. Bug 237364 says that events moved by drag and drop do not cause an update. Alternatively, since you're using a Mac, it may be bug 266256. This bug says that the events actually are published, but that Sunbird/Calendar doesn't update the display to show that this is the case. To check this, please make a change that should be auto-published, close Sunbird/Calendar, and then download the calendar file using another program to determine whether the changes were actually published. If any of these suggestions matches what you're experiencing, please resolve this bug as a duplicate of the appropriate bug. If not, please provide any additional detail you can about what you're seeing. Thanks.
Joey, I am testing Sunbird/Calander with iCal using a local WebDAV server. It will not automatically publish the calander when adding, removing, or making changes of any kind to an event(this includes drag & drop, changing location, changing title/description, time, and other things). I have checked the calander with iCal upon doing any/all of these things, and it is not autoupdating. I have tested with calanders that were published from iCal first, and also calanders that I have originated from sunbird/calander. Upon adding/chaning an event and manually (re)publishing the calander the changes will show up in iCal even if iCal is the original publisher of the calander, and also if iCal is still publishing the calander (*ical is accepting and not overwriting changes by sunbird when it is still publishing the calander). I have only tested this with events and have not tested whether or not tasks are causing an auto update. I will test with tasks and and add my findings to this bug report. Thanks, Will

I do not know if Sunbird (for Mac) does publish, no message at all if publishing takes place, no good results on server. Sunbird creates a file kalender.ics, but Sunbird for Win is not able to subscribe to it and load it.
