Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Theme Manager 2. Select theme to delete 3. Select Uninstall Theme (either the button or via right click) 4. Close Deer Park 5. Reopen Deer Park Actual Results: The theme I wanted to uninstall is still installed. Expected Results: Reomved the theme in question. I am showing no other themes showing to use, including the Classic theme.

"I am showing no other themes showing to use, including the Classic theme." Could this be related to 295723?

(In reply to comment #4) > "I am showing no other themes showing to use, including the Classic theme." > > Could this be related to bug 295723? Jeanne, could you try a more recent build from http://www.mozilla.org/releases/nightly.html namely todays build to see if it is fixed by bug 295723.

(In reply to comment #7) > Actually I installed with the nightly from last night. There are a couple of issues outstanding with themes currently and to identify this issue some more detail will be needed. 1. Was this with a new profile? If not, in this instance a default theme directory is abandoned in the profile's extensions directory during the profile upgrade which can cause strange behavior. Try deleting the {972ce4c6-7e08-4474-a285-3208198ce6fd} directory in your profile's extensions directory. If after doing that it still persists at least that has been ruled out. 2. Did you try uninstalling the theme after installing and before restarting? This is bug 295013. Also, if you haven't tried this with a new profile please do so and report whether you were able to uninstall the theme. I will also try to duplicate this some more.

It was a completely fresh install. I hadn't taken the first DP of Deer Park. As stated in the Steps, I did close DP after trying to remove the theme, and when I launched DP again it was still there. I did get the theme in question uninstalled after installing a new theme and switching to it. The problem seems to be the fact that the theme was still in use, but I had no other these showing up to switch to before deleting the one in question, not even the default, which is not showing up in the theme manager at all, as is posted in bug #295723.

Was it a new profile (this is different than a clean install) and did you restart after installing the theme? Have you tried with a build after the patch for bug 295723 was checked in which would be any builds after 20050527? Also of note, bug 295855.

No, sorry, not with a fresh profile. Also, 20050527 was the latest build I had at the time of the problem. I'll blow away my current DP install and load the latest nightly trunk. I'll install a theme and check the uninstall, but so long as it's not the active theme there's no problem on my end.

In thinking on this I am very sure this was caused by either bug 295723 or bug 295855 since installing a second theme allowed you to uninstall. Normally, the default theme would automatically be selected and allow you to perform the uninstall but since it wasn't displayed it was unable to do so. I ask that you use a new profile since you may very well run into this issue again with an upgraded profile due to bug 295855 and the patch for that bug has not landed.

I just installed the latest nightly and tried uninstalling the current theme. I had done an uninstall and restart of Windows before installing the latest build, and the theme uninstalled without a hitch and switched to the default theme. I guess we can call this bug squashed. Thanks for all the help.
