User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050414 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.7) Gecko/20050414 Running Windows XP SP2 all update changes along with Mafee Interent security 7.0 suite with Direcway satellite ISP (NAT) connection using a always on usb modem. Under preferences , advanced, proxy: preferences change from proxy Http setting being Direct connection to internet to HTTP proxy 127.0.01 port 83 no proxy for local host 127.0.1 only indication user gets that setting has changed is when loading a web page and can't open any web pages . upon opening preferences see setting as proxy HTTP: 127.0.1 port 83 instead of direct connection to internet. Upon changing setting back manually to direct connection to internet web pages open no problem till next time this happens. There is no pattern to when this hapens that i can track it down to a source although it does repeatedly change no matter how many times I set it back to correct settings. Best I can figure program doesn't seem to to be able to maintain settings selected. Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce Steps to Reproduce: 1. changed setting for proxy to direct connection 2.exited preferences 3. opened web page Actual Results: program worked web page opened, however i could not force the program to change settings as reported above under details myself, but it does change on its own without operator intervention. if I change the setting to proxy and manually configure to 127.0.1 get same indications as when program does this itself. but can't reporduce changing settings by operator action to duplicte problem Expected Results: settings remained what was set not shift back and forth. because there is no consistent time span or specific web page that this does it with unable to track down source. Maybe a unique situation with Satellite internet connections based on NAT address. (no static ip address) like on DSL or a cable connection. only suggestion is make a save feature button that saves the connction settings under preferences.

This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter.
